Every week is a beer festival at the "Jolly". We aim to bring Britain's best to our counter for your delight and enjoyment.
We always have up to EIGHT real ales and FOUR lagers available, plus a range of premium Belgian draught & bottled beers.
Among our regular brewers are
Badger Brewery, Itchen Valley, Sharps Brewery, Hop Back Brewery, Maypole, Ufford, Whitehorse, Hepworths, Shardlow, Hampshire and W J Kings.

THIS MONTH'S GUEST BELGIAN DRAUGHTS. Watou Wit (5%) A conventional belgian whitebeer with wheat spiced with orange zests and coriander but brewed with care and love at the Vaneecke brewery at Watou. From Brasserie La Caracole, Falmignoul, Province of Namur, Wallonia in southern Belgium, close to the French border. Caracole (9%) a complex artisanal Wallonian ale with amber/orange color, and thick white rocky head with a good lace. Suggestions of a floral wheatiness in the mouth with spicy, sweet aromas gives a refreshing cool feel. Chalky yeast bitterness rounds it off in the finish. Christoffel Blond Bier (6%) from Snt Christoffel of Roermond. Born as “Christoffel Bier” this was the first beer brewed by Christoffel. After the introduction of Christoffel Robertus, this beer was named Blond refering to it's natural colour. It's a low-fermenting beer with 6% ABV & has a full body, a very balanced taste and a beautiful bitterness due to a generous addition of fresh hop during the brewing-process. The aroma is fruity and the taste, fresh with a pleasant, hoppy finish.
From the Badger Brewery, Blandford Forum, Dorset. Badger first Gold (4%). Lauded for its well balanced bitterness, with hints of orange and spice, First Gold gives this classic Badger ale its clean, fresh, distinctive taste.
Hepworths, The Beer Station, The Railway Yard, Horsham, West Sussex. Prospect (4.5%) an organic pale ale, flavoured with Sussex grown barley and Golding and Admiral hops. Iron Horse (4.8%) a premium bitter handcrafted from a complex grist of roasted malts and English hops. Densely flavoured and very satisfying. The crystal malt gives a caramel sweetness.
Thomas Guest Brewing, Black Country Ales, Old Bull's Head Inn, 1 Redhall Road, Dudley, Staffordshire. Cobblers (4.4%).
The Cottage Brewing Company Ltd, The Old Cheese Dairy, Brue Farm, Lovington, Castle Cary, Somerset. Cutty Sark (4.5%) deep chestnut smooth and palatable.
From the Hogs Back Brewery, Tongham, Surrey. Hair of the Hog (3.7%) A light amber session bitter, biscuity flavour with fragrant hops leading to subtle malty citrus fruits with a long, aromatic, hoppy finish with a light malty aftertaste.
The Great Newsome Brewery Ltd, Great Newsome Farm, Winestead, Hull, Yorkshire. Stoney Binks (4.1%) an amber Burton type ale brewed with fuggles and goldings hops. The Stoney Binks is a shale bank off the Holderness coast at Spurn Point. Said to be the source of much of the material that built Hull.

White Horse Brewery Company Limited, Unit 3, White Horse Business Park, Ware Road, Stanford In The Vale, Faringdon, Oxfordshire. Giant (4.3%). Village Idiot (4.1%) Lightly coloured golden beer well hopped with a lasting fruity aftertaste.
B & T Brewery Ltd, The Brewery, 3e-3f St Francis Way, Shefford, Bedfordshire. Shefford Pale Ale (4.5%) A well balanced beer, with hops, fruit and malt flavours. Brewed using Pearl Pale Malt, Crystal Malt, Wheat Malt, Fuggle Hops and Golding Hops.
Anglo Dutch Brewery, Unit 12 Savile Bridge Mill, Savile Road, Dewsbury, Yorkshire. Spike's on t'way (4.2%). Special (5.0%).
Leyden Brewing Ltd, Lord Raglan, Mount Pleasant, Nangreaves, Bury, Lancashire. Forever Bury (4.5%). Ragan Sleeve (4.6%).
The Great Newsome Brewery Ltd, Great Newsome Farm, Winestead, Hull, Yorkshire. Frothingham Best (4.3%) a best bitter with a dark amber hue. Crystal malts provide depth of flavour with bitterness coming from English Pilgrim Hops. Subtle flavour with a slightly dry finish.
The Tring Brewery, Units 12-13 Akeman Business Park, 81-82 Akeman Street, Tring, Hertfordshire. Jenny Yarn (4.2%) bitterness and aroma come from the finest Boadicea hops. The resulting golden bitter is fruity and almost scented. A subtle malt flavour is overtaken by a lingering bitterness.
Hart Brewery Ltd, Cartford Inn and Restaurant, Cartford Lane, Little Eccleston, Preston, Lancashire. Old Yokel (4.1%).
The Cottage Brewing Company Ltd, The Old Cheese Dairy, Brue Farm, Lovington, Castle Cary, Somerset. Whippet of Oz (3.9%) golden ale, light crisp and refreshing. Pitstop (4.2%) copper coloured with a lingering bitter finish. Somerset & Dorset (4.4%) dark brown, well hopped and malty. Named after the Somerset and Dorset Railway. Normans conquest (5%). Western Glory (4.7%). Our Ken (4.5%). Champflower (4.2%). Southern (3.9%).
