The Jolly 

The Jolly Farmer is one of the few remaining family owned and run independent freehouses in the south east of England.

Our aim is to provide our guests with the highest possible standard of food, drink and accommodation in clean, attractive surroundings complimented by a warm welcome and a pleasant atmosphere.

A traditional ale house at heart, we have a constantly changing selection of up to 8 real ales, sourced from breweries big and small across Great Britain. Teamed with delicious, home cooked food, made with the freshest, local ingredients, we think you're going to love what we have to offer.

We try to be consistent in our opening hours but sometimes, for reasons out of our control, we are unable to offer our normal service. It’s always worth a quick call to check that we are open when you need us to be.

Beer and Wine

We're all about the beer

For almost half a century, we've been well known for our commitment to fantastic beer, we offer up to 8 daily changing real ales, sourced from breweries big and small from across great Britain. A further 10 premium lagers and craft beers from England and Europe can be found on our counter, as well as two draught English ciders. If none of these take your fancy, our beer lineup is completed by a range of bottled beers, with something for every taste.

The Crafty Brewing co. Ltd, Thatched House Farm, Dunsfold Rd, Loxhill, Godalming Surrey.

Hop Tipple IPA (4.2%) A golden ale with a hoppy citrus aroma and a resinous, refreshing finish. Grumpsters (3.9%) traditional copper bitter. Red Planet (4.5%) Deep red with subtle spice & roasted notes from roasted barley & rye, fresh & fruity with aromas of honey & gooseberry.

Magpie Brewery, 4 Ashling Court, Ashling St, Nottingham.

Thieving Rogue (4.5%) Super pale with a floral hop character from classic British hops, and a light biscuit note from 100% Maris Otter malt.  

Hopstar Brewery, Unit 9, Rinus Business Park, Grimshaw St, Darwen, Lancs.

Off t Mill (4.0%) A true all English Pale ale, all the ingredients in this bitter are sourced from England. Brewed with Maris Otter malt and Sovereign hops. A seasonal beer that became so popular it has now become permanent.

Adnams Brewery, Sole Bay Brewery, E Green, Southwold, Suffolk.

Southwold bitter (3.9%) Southwold Bitter is authentic and full of character, just like its namesake – our hometown on the Suffolk coast. Copper-coloured and late-hopped with Fuggles, its distinctive, thirst-quenching, herbal hoppiness provides a genuine English bitter experience.

XT Brewing Co. Notley Farm, Long Crendon, Oxfordshire.

Kangaroo (4.6%) Very hoppy. Aussie Gold. Australian Galaxy and Victoria Secret hops for a fruity flavour. Expect tones of guava, peach, oranges, pineapple and passionfruit.

New World Pale (3.9%) Lovely session ale, crisp new world hops, citrus grapefruit flavours predominate. Colonial Pale (5.5%) Cathedral Gold (4.3%) Fruity and aromatic. A crisp, citrussy, dry hopped extra pale ale. Newark Castle (4.5%) Nutty browm ale with winter berry notes and a crisp bitter finish. Missy Sippy (5.5%) American Pale Ale. Aromatic IPA with  Bold fruity flavours. North Rock (4.0%) traditional brown bitter.

The Goldmark Brewery, 23 The Vinery, Arundel, West Sussex.

Liquid Gold (4.0%) A refreshing full bodoed golden beer with bursts of citrus fruitiness. Amber IPA (3.9%) Session amber ale with malty backbone coupled with refreshing fruity flavours.

Potbelly Brewery Ltd. 25-31, Durban Rd, Kettering, Northamptonshire.

Piggy in The Meadow (4.3%) Light golden ale infused with Honey sweetish flavour balanced with a crisp hop finish. Yeller Belly (5.2%) A premium but very easy drinking Golden Bitter – with a refreshing grape fruit bitterness.

XT Brewing Co. Notley Farm, Long Crendon, Oxfordshire.

Red Admiral (4.6%) Vibrant Red. Amarillo, Cascade and Moteuka give a floral and fruit hop flavour. Dry- hopped with experimental HBC638 for cherry, strawberry and cantaloupe tones. 

Nottingham Brewery Ltd, Plough Inn, 17 St Peters Street, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire.

EPA (4.3%) A light coloured  exceptionally well balanced smooth ale with a light fragrant hop finish.

Wantsum Brewery Ltd, St Nicholas -at-Wade, Canterbury, Kent.

Dynamo (4.3%) Light Golden Ale. A crisp light refreshing Golden Ale, delicately hopped to give a well balanced light fruity floral flavour and aroma.

Isle of Purbeck Brewery, Manor Rd, Studland, Swanage, Dorset.

Fossil Fuel (4.1%) A light amber best bitter with a fresh malt and peppery hop aroma, Fossil Fuel was the first beer brewed at the Isle of Purbeck Brewery in 2003. Balanced malt and a hop presence lead to sweetish caramel notes, cereal malts, a touch of tangy hedgerow fruit and a pleasantly dry and clean finish. Force Four (4.0%) Force Four is our wonderfully crisp and hoppy blonde beer. It’s refreshing taste and dry finish makes it perfect for quaffing on a breezy day.

Operation Smash (4.2%) single hop and single malt celebrating 80 years since D Day. Crisp grapefruit citrussy flavours with a solid biscuity malt back bone.

Goff's Brewery Ltd, 9 Isbourne Way, Winchcombe, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

Jester 28 (4.4%) Brewed with NZ wai-iti & rakua for hints of peach and lychee in this light refreshing pale.

Leatherbritches Brewery, The Bentley Brook Inn, Fenny Bentley, Ashbourne, Derbyshire.

Scoundrel (4.1%) A medium bodied porter with plenty of Cara malt to give a subtle but sweet tasting profile.

Shivering Sands Brewery, 91 Maple Leaf Business Park, Manston, Kent.

Red Sands (4.5%) American style red IPA. Spicy and peppery with berry notes.

The Grainstore Brewery, Station Approach, Oakham, Rutland.

Zahara (4.2%) Our first foray into American hops, produced an extra pale, zesty little number. Hooped with predominantly Cashmere and Cascade hops.

Don Valley Brewery, The Old Airfield, Belton Road, Sandtoft, Doncaster.

Atomic Blonde (4.3%) Pilsner and Munich malts give this beer a deep body and a light blonde colour. The Goldings hops lend a British bitterness while finished with Cascade hops to deliver a floral and citrusy aroma and that all important punk undertone.

Brunswick Brewery, 1 Railway Terrace, Derby.

Pick  ‘n’ Mix (5.0%) Lovely strong pale ale brewed with 7 hops including Citra, Mosaic, Ella, Chinook and Idaho.

Accommodation

At the Jolly Farmer we offer bed and breakfast in three beautiful double rooms, and a full suite. Filled with historic oak beams, wattle and daub walls, and oodles of character, its the perfect place for any stay.

All prices include VAT @ 20% and are room only rates. Breakfasts are available from 8:30-10 Monday to Friday and 9-10 Saturday and Sunday. cooked breakfasts are £11.50 continental £8.50

Extra child beds are available in rooms 4 & 5 0nly at a cost of £20 per night, cots for babies are available free of charge, please let us know your requirements at the time of booking. 

We allow dogs/pets in all our rooms with an additional cleaning charge of £12 per dog/pet, per night. We ask that guests bring a suitable bed for their dog/pet, and do not allow them on any furniture.

Smoking is not permitted in any of our rooms.

Double Rooms

We have three beautiful en suite double rooms, each with their own individual period features, All double rooms feature full en-suite bathrooms, complementary hot drinks, toiletries and sherry.

Priced FROM £90 per night for single occupancy, or FROM £115 per night for double occupancy.

 
Room 5 bed

Suite

Our full suite features a king size bed, a separate living room and en-suite shower room. Exposed wattle and daub walls, and views of Bramley's historic medieval church give our suite a unique character. Hot drinks, toiletries, and sherry included.

Priced at £130.00 per night for single occupancy, or £155.00 per night for double occupancy.

A bucket of beer for the winners and a much sought after wooden spoon for the losers.

Play your cards right with four £50 food and drink vouchers up for grabs at each quiz and we ALWAYS have a winner.
